Lavina Chan is a New York State Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with nearly three decades of experience in tax, accounting, financial reporting, and business transformation. Throughout her 29-year career, she has built a reputation as a strategic leader who combines deep technical expertise with innovative approaches to process improvement, technology integration, and
operational excellence.
Lavina’s professional experience spans some of the world’s most respected financial institutions and public accounting firms, including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Deloitte & Touche, Marcum LLP, Janover LLC, and Armanino Advisory LLC. Her expertise includes bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, tax compliance, tax return preparation for individuals and all
entity types—including trusts, corporations, S-corporations, partnerships, and not-for-profit organizations—and advanced data analysis utilizing Microsoft Excel and business intelligence tools.
During the past twelve years, Lavina has focused extensively on tax technology and transformation, helping organizations modernize their tax operations through automation, data analytics, and process optimization. She has successfully led large-scale technology implementations, developed innovative reporting solutions, and guided firms through transformational initiatives that improved efficiency, strengthened compliance, and enhanced
reporting accuracy. As Director of Tax Technology and Transformation at Armanino Advisory LLC, she continues to lead firmwide initiatives that leverage technology to create measurable business value.
Today, Lavina is expanding her own tax and accounting practice, where she provides tax preparation, accounting services, personal wealth management guidance, and retirement planning strategies to individuals, families, and business owners. Her goal is to help clients achieve financial confidence through personalized service, strategic planning, and practical solutions.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lavina is a respected leader in the dragon boat community. Since beginning her dragon boat career in 2010 with the Goldman Sachs Tritons, she has served in numerous leadership roles, including Team Manager, Executive Board Member, Treasurer, and Team USA Manager. She played a key role in the merger of Seadogs and Gotham Thunder, served as an Assistant Race Official at the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) Club Crew World Championships, and currently serves as Treasurer of the Eastern Regional Dragon Boat Association (ERDBA). In 2023, she was appointed to the United States Dragon Boat Federation (USDBF) Financial Oversight Committee, and in 2025 was selected as Team Manager for Team USA at the IDBF World Championships in Brandenburg, Germany.
Throughout her career, whether in finance, sports administration, or international competition, Lavina has demonstrated a commitment to leadership, excellence, discipline, and service. Her unique combination of financial expertise, organizational leadership, and athletic achievement
