Jackson Koo Bio – New York Dragon Boat Alliance, Inc.
I was introduced to the New York dragon boat community over 20 years ago through my involvement with my company’s team, the Con Edison Electric Dragons (aka Electric Dragons NYC). I currently serve as the Head Coach and Co-Captain of the Electric Dragons NYC, where I’ve successfully transformed a small corporate team into a competitive and close-knit community “family.” Under my leadership, our team has grown to participate in numerous regional regattas, with aspirations to continue enhancing our paddling skills and achievements.
In addition to my team involvement, I serve on the Host Committee of the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in New York. In this role, I’m dedicated to continually improving the festival experience and fostering the growth of the New York dragon boat community.
Professionally, I am a Project Manager in the Emergency Preparedness group at Con Edison. My engineering and project management expertise have enabled me to lead teams in developing innovative solutions, responding quickly to emerging challenges, and ensuring the safe delivery of power while maintaining customer satisfaction.
I am deeply passionate about promoting and supporting the dragon boat community, embracing its core values of teamwork, sportsmanship, cultural diversity, and inclusivity. As a member of the New York Dragon Boat Alliance, I look forward to leveraging my skills to contribute to the continued growth and longevity of this cherished sport in my hometown.
